Kalhie Q. QbAla call her what u wanna but she aint yo baby mama! ... With a slogan like that you know the 970 raised female emcee can shred mics and rock a show to the fullest. Bala hails from the Northern Colorado region where she grew up in a competitive family surrounding through athletics. Throughout High School Q dabbled in creative writing and writing lyrics without beats and also played on the Varsity basketball team. After graduating she was offered a full ride at a Southern Colorado Jr. College where she had great success as a student athlete. Although Q was not performing and making moves the way she is now she was headed in the right direction. After finishing a 25-5 season she went on the play at Utah state where she grew more as a young woman than in the athletic field. After traveling to Australia with the USU women's team she quit and headed back to her home in Colorado. "I had some emotional family time and business that needed to be taken care of and needed to be free of school and bal l to do so."
Throughout her time back in the 97' she got the confidence to kick rhymes at local house parties, write lyrics to beats, and rock shows. Q was doing her thing! Shortly after she was invited to play on the University of Alaska Anchorage basketball team where she lead the Seawolves to a 30-5 record, bringing home the Alaskan Shootout title, winning the region and continuing on to play in the NCAA DII tournament where they lost by two points to Northern Kentucky.
Shortly after Q ventured back to the lower 48 where she is currently making a living working a 9-5 but is grinding by hitting the lab the stage and peoples ear holes in homes, car stereos, and ipod ear buds..so stay tuned Planet QbAla is on the move to becoming something great for the Colorado State!
